At Illuminate Academy, we believe communication is connection—and every learner deserves full access to it. We’re currently seeking a Part-Time Speech Therapist to join our neuroaffirming, heart-led team. This role focuses on consultation and collaboration, ensuring communication supports are thoughtfully and seamlessly embedded into our classroom environments across both our Nashville and Brentwood campuses.

In this role, you’ll help ensure that learners:

  • Are fully understood, supported, and celebrated in how they communicate

  • Have access to AAC systems that reflect their current needs and evolving strengths

  • Experience communication support in every classroom, every zone, and every relationship

You’re a strong fit if you:

  • Have deep knowledge of Gestalt Language Processing, AAC, and neurodivergent communication

  • Understand the value of embedded, classroom-based supports over traditional pull-out models

  • Love working alongside instructors and support teams to create communication-rich, connection-first environments

  • Are confident in programming and personalizing AAC devices, and helping teams use them in meaningful ways

  • Have experience supporting conversational learners who benefit from guidance in nonverbal language, perspective-taking, and self-advocacy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with instructors to ensure content and classroom expectations are communication-accessible

  • Program and support AAC systems across classroom settings

  • Model communication strategies in natural group environments

  • Help staff recognize, support, and celebrate all forms of communication—from echolalia and body language to social conversation

  • Track communication goals and support integration into daily routines and classroom rhythms

Qualifications:

  • Licensed or license-eligible Speech-Language Pathologist in Tennessee

  • Strong understanding of neuroaffirming communication practices

  • Collaborative, curious, and values-driven team player

  • Flexible and available to support both our Nashville and Brentwood campuses

Why You’ll Love Working With Us:

  • A joyful, intentional team that leads with love and clarity

  • Opportunities to be creative, collaborative, and deeply impactful

  • A flexible part-time role with room to grow as our programs expand

Role Details:

  • 10–20 hours per week (with scheduling flexibility)

  • In-person at both Nashville & Brentwood locations

  • Focused on consultation and collaboration, not direct therapy
